Technical Crew
The responsibilities of the Rozsa Technical Crew include setting up events, striking events, running sound, lights, streaming, video, and staging for the Rozsa Center and other facilities within the University. The Rozsa Center hosts professional and collegiate concerts, musical events, theatrical productions, corporate meetings, variety shows, and art exhibits.

With many events hosted throughout the year in the 1062 seat Proscenium, it is also important to understand and apply safety practices while working. Keeping an awareness of surroundings and communicating with fellow crew members significantly decreases the chance for injury.
Lincoln Center's "My Fair Lady"

The Rozsa Center had the pleasure of hosting the Lincoln Center's touring production of "My Fair Lady." As a big show, it required a large crew to put together in a short amount of time. My responsibilities included assisting with load-in, building the set, acting as run crew during the show, disassembling the set, and assisting with load-out.
Manual Cinema's Leonardo!
October 2024
Manual Cinema's Leonardo! made its appearance on the Rozsa Center stage with its talented cast putting on a wonderful puppet show that showcased the production aspect to the audience. Responsibilities included assisting with load-in, implementing all sound elements into the Rozsa's system, running sound for the show, and assisting with load-out. The largest challenge was troubleshooting problems involving implementing their sound elements into our system. After communicating with the technical head of the show about their equipment and adjusting routing, the system was fully implemented.
Live Music
Common Ensembles at the Rozsa Center include the Keweenaw Symphony Orchestra (KSO) and the Superior Wind Symphony (SWS). Events like Backstage Jazz, consisting of multiple ensembles also occur. For these events, I have operated the front of house board to provide a quality-sounding live mix to the house and also operated our stream mixing console that provides audio to livestreams.
